Summary of Position:

Select Event Group contracts with event owners and organizers to create custom infrastructure buildings that properly reflect our client's vision for the event.  Through our multiple divisions, Select designs, fabricates, and produces key elements of the event including tents and structures, flooring, scaffolding, bleacher seating, power and climate control, specialty furniture, graphics, decor, custom fabrication, lighting, sound, and all catering-related equipment.  Select's designers and staff truly do Inspire, Design, and Create.

We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join our new and growing Design & Production division.  Select's Design & Production division offers full-service event production services from unique event decor to custom builds to graphics from our in house production team.  This division focuses on the guest experience while bringing our client's vision to life.  In addition to the custom work we do, elements commonly sold from our existing inventory include specialty bars, tables, lounge furniture, floral elements, and draping solutions.  The executive will focus on targeted growth areas within the parameters of our existing divisional sales strategy, including but not limited to sports and corporate events, large social events, and industrial work.  The primary geographic focus of the executive will be Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.  However, as a company committed to continued growth, we will evaluate all opportunities with an open mind.

Qualification:

We are looking for an outgoing, competitive, and highly relationship-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.  Selected candidate will thrive on identifying, contracting, and growing new relationships in the growth areas discussed above.  While the success of the selected candidate will depend partially on their ability to practice cold call prospecting and market research, the best candidates will easily demonstrate healthy, preexisting corporate and personal networks within the Washington, D.C. and/or Baltimore markets.

Preferred candidates should have experience in large events and hospitality.  However, a strong track record of success in similar sales and business development roles will also be considered.  Candidates need to demonstrate a high level of self-confidence, excellent communication and organizational skills, team orientation, the ability to work independently, and a personal commitment to service excellence.
